Eliminate violence against women- 16 days of activism campaign


From 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day, the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign seeks to end violence agains girls and women.

World Health Organization facts.Global estimates published by WHO indicate that about 1 in 3 (35%) of women worldwide have experienced either physical and/or sexual intimate partner violence or non-partner sexual violence in their lifetime.

UN Database on Violence against Women has country files with links to legisaltion and statistics

2014 EU survey
over 40,000 surveyed. Found that '33% of women had experienced physical and/or sexual violence since the age of 15. That corresponds to 62 million women.'

End Violence Against Women has information about the nature , extent and measures to prevent violence in the UK. The Office for National Statistics has datasets covering 2016 they include domestic violence and stalking.
