Global entrepreneur week: find some free resources for students




Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is an international initiative that introduces entrepreneurship to young people in six continents. GEW emerged in 2008 Here are some resources.

It is developing a Global Entrepreneurship Library created by the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Fostering Entrepreneurship which will have useful documents articles and templates on all aspects of entrepreneurship and business development.


Academic research on entrepreneurship

Kaufman Foundation website has a wealth of research resources relating to entrepreneurship
 Kauffman Index: Startup Activity
has the  latest data available on entrepreneurial trends nationally, at the state level, and for the 40 largest metropolitan areas of the United States
Entrepreneurship Policy Digest
 mainly USA focused has practical tips and summaries of research and policy. Signup to receive updates via email.

World Economic Forum reports on entrepreneurs.
World Bank data on entrepreneurship from 2015. covers trends, relationship with regulation. also from 2010
OECD-Eurostat Entrepreneurship Indicators Programme conducts research and produces 
the anual statistical publication Entrepreneurship at a glance.
LSE OECD iLibrary subscription has data that can be downloaded.

Other LSE Journal databases with articles and analyses: 
  • ABI/INform Complete
    Access references and full text articles from leading business databases and newspapers published since 1971. It is offered on the proquest site where you can cross search it with other business databases including Asian Business, Proquest entrepreneurship.
  • Business Source Complete 
    Leading business research database which provides access to the text of several thousand journals covering business, management, human resources, finance and market research topics. Find articles on the media industry.
  • Emerald
    is a database of references to articles taken from around 450 top management and business journals. The coverage is international but with a UK bias. The database covers the years from 1989 onwards and is updated monthly.

Support for Entrepreneurs
Kaufmann Center Entrepreneurs Resource Center has articles, tips and guides to all aspects of starting and expanding a business. USA based but much good advice includes accounting, marketing and HR.
British Library Business and IP centre has resources  that entrepreneurs can use in its reading rooms
Its Business and Management Studies portal can be used (after free registration) to search the library collections and download many resources (articles and reports) free of charge

LSE Journal databases
Proquest Entrepreneurship has business plans, templates and guidance documents
